Four Great Reasons to join a Home Group

IT IS THE BEST ENVIRONMENT TO RECEIVE AND GIVE CARE TO ONE ANOTHER
Often people feel their needs are not being met in church. People tell us they feel isolated, left out, or passed by. We encourage them to join a home fellowship group. It is hard to relate to 350 people on a Sunday, but easy to relate to 12 people at a weekly home group.

God has provided a haven of caring community for those feeling isolated in this impersonal world of ours. Members listen, pray together and share one another's challenges and victories. They notice the needs and will express God's compassion for one another. Relationships are the key to fruitful living. Our home groups at St. Paul's are designed to offer satisfying and fulfilling relationships with others who are on the journey with you.

HOME GROUPS GROW DISCIPLES
Spiritual growth takes place in the context of Bible study, prayer, accountability, and commitment. Too many want "church-lite" without the sense of corporate responsibility. Spiritual growth doesn't just happen. Commit yourself to be an active part of the body of Christ and not just a spectator. You will see change within your heart and actions as God grows you into the image of His Son.

EQUIPPING FOR MINISTRY TAKES PLACE AS WE ARE MENTORED IN A HOME GROUP
It is amazing when you begin to see people move in their spiritual gifts -- perhaps teaching, exhorting, compassion, helping, serving, administering, hospitality, etc. These things don't happen as well on a Sunday morning -- You came to see the paid clergy do it. Hands-on ministry opportunities will be afforded you in home groups, so go for it!

EVANGELISM
The most effective means of evangelism is when unchurched people are invited into the circle of Christian fellowship. Some of the stereotypes that the unchurched have toward Christians begin to break down as they see practical Christianity on display. Every home group serves as an expression of Jesus' love for the lsot and wandering that come into the home group. We grow to go so that others will come and see! People experience God's love in word and action. The Holy Spirit uses this witness to bring others to faith in Jesus, and then unfolds them into an authentic Christian community of shared life.
