I was blessed yesterday in reading your account of the appearance of 3 blue Herons on Palm Sunday and see just how approprate they were for that day. In reading it again today, as we count the days to Pentecoast, I would like to change one word “herons are the images of the eternal struggle” to the temporary struggle “of good against evil” He is Risen INDEED…He is TRIUMPHANT and our Victory is assured IN HIM. Long time no see. Hope you and your family are doing well. I am .iving in Milford CT now. Do you remember me from St. James’s in Cambridge? I am writing to you because of something you said in a sermon once that has stuck in my mind, but i can’t remember it exactly, or whom you were quoting. It was someting like: Nothing ( or noone) is more insufferable than
the person who knows he is right. Do you remember?
Just to catch you up: Bill died April 19th 2002. I moved back to CT (Bristol) 11/02 to be with my dad who was dying from cancer. Re-met an old friend, fell in love, stayed down here ever since. Mostly happily.

We have a tendency to settle for things if they are good enough. The promises of God often seem too good to be true. This is a reminder that God keeps calling us to what is actually great.
