God’s Great Get-together
V.B.S. August 16-20, 2010 |
Did you know that the Baobab tree – the world’s largest succulent – often serves as a water tank for those in the African plains. Some baobab’s grow so large they have been used as houses, prisons, bars, and bus stops! A baobab can provide shelter, water, and food for both people and animals in a time and place where little all are in short supply. A baobab is a landmark drawing people to it’s side.
Baobab Blast our 2010 VBS is now drawing kids four years old and up to join God’s Great Get Together. [Those entering the 6th grade or higher – or adults! - are welcome to sign on as Gamekeepers.]
From 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, August 16 through 20, we’ll learn about the baobab while we also learn to share the Good News of Jesus, to care for others, and to live as part of a community! And we will end on Friday evening at 5:30 with a “harambi”, a feast, a party, to which everyone is invited.
VBS is still a bargain. $45 for the first child in a family; $40 for the second child; $35 for the third; $30 for the fourth, etc. (Scholarships are available; talk to us!) Forms are available at the Welcome Center – or call 203 655-8773 during working hours
